A new 1,000 bed medium security men’s prison to be built adjacent to the Metropolitan Remand Centre and the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre. Major features of the project include built capacity for 1,300 prisoners to meet possible future demand; modern prison technology to safely and securely contain prisoners; a 75-bed mental health unit; a flexible prison design allowing for future changes to cater for prisoners with different needs.
The project is being completed in joint venture with Guymer Bailey Architects.
