First stage of Central Institute of Technology redevelopment included the consolidation of several campuses into one central facility in Northbridge. Stage 1 incorporates the Technology Centre for Printing, Jewellery and Art, Design and Media. The building comprises of 7 Pre-print graphic design studios, a theatrette and staff accommodation at first floor level linking homogeneously into the existing Art & Design Building. On the ground floor addressing Newcastle St is the Print Finishing facility which houses the relocated Heidelberg print machines in a light industrial workshop facility. Total floor area- 2800m².
This commission included the preparation of a Northbridge campus masterplan and project brief for the decant of the Wembley and Lord St campuses into the recently completed “Knowledge Industries building” (30 Aberdeen St).
